J.K. Rowling Approves Important Aspect Of 'Harry Potter' Series
J.K. Rowling shares her excitement about the scripts for the upcoming 'Harry Potter' series, calling them excellent.
As the filming start date for HBO's Harry Potter series approaches, news about the show has been pouring in. This includes mostly rumors and official announcements regarding the cast of the mega-series. However, other aspects of the series are receiving less attention.
One of these aspects is the content of the adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books. HBO promised that the series would be a faithful adaptation of the source material. Compared to the films, the series' length offers the potential for more detail, especially for books 4 through 7, which are dense volumes that lost a lot in the cinema adaptations.
Today, for the first time, Rowling shares information about the series' content on her X account. ''I have read the first two episodes of the upcoming HBO 'Harry Potter' series and they are SO, SO, SO GOOD!'', she writes excitedly.
Rowling has been relatively quiet about her involvement with the series – and generally about her thoughts on the project. However, today she provided more insight in response to a fan's question.
''So you're not writing for the series yourself?'', asked one of her followers. Rowling's response was clear: ''No, but I have been closely collaborating with the extremely talented writers.''
How the scripts, which Rowling is so enthusiastic about, will look on television screens will be revealed in late 2026 or early 2027: that’s when season 1 of the fantasy series will debut on HBO Max.
