The Perfect Movie According To George Clooney: "The Golden Age"

The beloved director and actor George Clooney shares his deep appreciation for the film 'All the President's Men', citing it as a masterpiece in cinema history.

George Clooney has been a prominent director and actor for decades. The Oscar-winning star has created many gems, but according to him, there is one film he will never be able to match.

Although Clooney has been active in the film industry for a long time, he missed the 'golden age.' According to the actor, from 1964 to 1976 was 'the best time in film history.' He enthusiastically reflects on this period.

Praise

He begins: "During that period, many top films came out that are on my favorites list. For example, I think of 'Network' and 'Dr. Strangelove', but my absolute number one is without a doubt 'All the President's Men'."

Clooney, known for Gravity and The Ides of March, continues: "This is, in my eyes, simply the perfect movie. You know from the start how it ends, but you are on the edge of your seat until the end. It remains exciting and intense. It is remarkable that a film achieves this in such a way."

Story

All the President's Men tells the true story of journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein (played by Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman) who uncovered the Watergate scandal.

Their revelations led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon, the only time a U.S. president voluntarily stepped down from office. Since the scandal had only recently occurred, making the film at that time was a risk. Nevertheless, it became a great success, receiving eight Oscar nominations and winning four golden statuettes.
