War, Giant Sharks And Explosions: 'Beast Of War' Has It All

The upcoming movie promises an exhilarating blend of war drama and monstrous terror.

Fans of war stories and monster films have something to look forward to with Beast of War. This film combines both aspects of classic war drama with the nerve-wracking threat of a bloodthirsty shark.

The movie is directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, known for Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead and Sting. His latest tale is set during World War II.

Disaster

At its center is a group of young Australian soldiers who lose their ship to a Japanese air raid in 1942. The survivors cling to a lifeboat in the ocean, hoping for rescue.

However, their struggle for survival takes a terrifying turn... The soldiers are pursued by a giant white shark, which circles hungrily around their raft, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Historical Basis

The film is loosely based on the sinking of the HMAS Armidale, where countless lives were lost. The director has previously stated that a life-size shark model weighing over half a ton was primarily used in production.

Beast of War premieres on October 9 in Australia and hits U.S. theaters and VOD platforms on October 10.
