"Heart Rate Above 200 BPM' In The New Stephen King Film 'The Long Walk'

This new adaptation from Stephen King promises to be a truly chilling experience for viewers. With its intense premise, it raises the stakes for all who dare to watch.

The Long Walk is coming. This is yet another adaptation of one of Stephen King's books, but apparently, this is one of his most gruesome stories. This can also be seen in the video below.

The story is set in the near future in America. The United States has turned into a police state, where each year a major 'competition' takes place. Hundreds of boys are selected to run a unique marathon with deadly consequences...

Creepily Thrilling

There is no clear end; if a participant slows down, they receive a warning. If you completely stop the marathon, you are executed on the spot. The winner is the only one who survives and can make a single wish come true.

Studio Lionsgate conducted a test to see just how thrilling The Long Walk really is. They had a small community watch the film while monitoring their heart rates. The results were quite remarkable.

The Result

Normally, a resting heart beats 70 to 80 times per minute, but the heart rates of the viewers soared above 200 BPM. In the first 20 minutes of the film, the heart rate increased significantly and continued to rise afterward. Watch the 'experiment' below.
