Thursday Is The Day: Finally, The Sequel To One Of The Best Series Ever Comes To Peacock
This Thursday, viewers can finally binge-watch the new spin-off series, The Paper, on Peacock.
Starting Thursday, viewers can get acquainted with The Paper, the new spin-off of The Office. The series will be available on Peacock, releasing the entire first season at once. This allows fans to watch all episodes back-to-back without waiting for weekly releases.
Peacock has recently announced a full commitment to the binge model. The first season consists of ten episodes, all available starting from September 4th. Originally, the plan was to release the first four episodes immediately and then continue with weekly releases until the end of September, but that schedule has been abandoned.
The series is created by Greg Daniels, co-creator of The Office, and Michael Koman, known for Nathan for You. Instead of the familiar Scranton office, the new series follows a documentary team this time settling at a regional newspaper in Toledo, Ohio: the Toledo Truth Teller. This gives the spin-off a different setting while retaining the mockumentary concept.
The cast mostly features new faces. Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Chelsea Frei play key roles. Additionally, Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez, bringing a familiar element from The Office back. Unfortunately, well-known characters like Michael Scott and Jim Halpert will not be present.
Although the series is touted as the successor to one of the greatest sitcoms of the past few decades, much remains unknown about its precise tone and content. The first official image was released only in July, followed by the trailer in early August. This has further fueled curiosity: can this series really come close to The Office?
Outside the US the series will be available on SkyShowtime and other streaming services close to Peacock.
