Not A Fan Of 'The Witcher' Series? Watch This 100% Rotten Tomatoes 'Witcher' Movie On Netflix

While the series may not appeal to everyone, you truly shouldn't miss this animated gem.

While the live-action series The Witcher recently aired its fourth season and received a mixed reception (aside from the stellar addition of Leo Bonhart), there is an even better Witcher title available to watch on Netflix.

If you’re hesitant to continue with the series because Henry Cavill is no longer involved but still a fan of this entire universe, then you should definitely check out the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

Incredible

This animated film doesn’t focus on Geralt of Rivia, but rather on his mentor, Vesemir. This character doesn’t have much to do in the Netflix series, but he takes center stage in the film. We follow a young, arrogant Vesemir as he grows into one of the best Witchers.

What makes Nightmare of the Wolf so remarkable is the creative freedom that animation provides. The spectacular fight scenes and monstrous foes come to life in a way that live-action simply couldn’t replicate.

Reception

Furthermore, the audience finally gets to see the long-awaited storyline of the fall of Kaer Morhen, the home of the Witchers. This pivotal event is heavily referenced in the games and books, but has never been fully represented visually.

Due to the quality of this R-rated animated film, it highlights how little Netflix has since done with this format. Vesemir proves to be at least as interesting a main character as Geralt, which is evident from the 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans have been requesting a sequel for years, but so far, silence reigns.
