The 'It' Films May Be Back! But Not As Two Films

With the success of the new prequel series, a supercut suddenly seems much closer.

Right now, It: Welcome to Derry is a huge hit on streaming. The prequel series based on the It films is performing exceptionally well on global rankings.

The series is produced by Andy Muschietti, the director of It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019). Muschietti recently visited the fan site Reddit and answered questions about both the series and the films.

Big Dream

A fan noted that Muschietti once expressed the desire to merge the films into one cohesive whole. Regarding this, the filmmaker said:
"Yes, that is still a big dream of mine."

He explained that, "because we have been so busy with this show, we haven’t had time to execute it. I keep my fingers crossed."

Supercut

Directors often dream of merging films from the same series into one long movie. A recent example of such a supercut is Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair by Quentin Tarantino. The merging of Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 recently premiered in America, and the reception was enormously positive.
