Charlize Theron Reveals Shocking Experience: "The Director Wanted Just One Thing From Me"
Charlize Theron describes a troubling incident in Hollywood where a director made unwanted advancements towards her during an audition.
In the YouTube -show Call Her Daddy Charlize Theron discusses her sex life openly. During the same conversation, she reflected on a painful experience from her early years in Hollywood.
The actress, whose new film The Old Guard 2 has just premiered on Netflix, shares that a famous director sexually intimidated her. Many years later, this same person reached out to her in a panic.
Theron comments: "The meeting took place in the nineties, when I thought I was going for an audition at the director's home. However, he was walking around in a silk pajamas. He offered me a drink and placed his hand on my knee."
"I didn't know what was normal in the industry at the time. I thought: 'Maybe this is how it goes here?' But on my way out, I already knew: I would never get that role. I was not there for my talent. I was there for one reason."
"When I shared this story with the world, he got nervous and sent me a letter trying to explain what supposedly happened and that I had misunderstood it." Still, Theron refuses to name him. She has a good reason for this. "I don't want to protect him, but I don't want the story to revolve around him. He knows exactly who he is. I actually find it nice that he's constantly stressed, not knowing if his name will ever be mentioned."
