"The Biggest Project Since Game Of Thrones", This Science Fiction Success Is The Undisputed Number 1 In 76 Countries And Scores An Excellent 8.4 On IMDb

Pluribus, the mysterious series by Vince Gilligan, has turned out to be a major hit on Apple TV, captivating audiences globally.

Two months after the launch of Pluribus, it is clear that Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV series has a far greater impact than initially anticipated. What started as a project he once described as coincidentally arising within the science fiction genre has now transformed into one of the most-watched titles on the platform. New episodes are released weekly, and the audience seems to enthusiastically embrace the mysterious atmosphere filled with discomfort.

After the crime series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, no one expected Gilligan to take his next step in a completely different direction. Yet, he now finds himself in a world where alienation and social friction are central themes. Pluribus follows Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn, who becomes increasingly uneasy as everyone around her suddenly behaves overly friendly due to an alien virus.

From Crime To Mystery

The idea emerged years ago during the filming of Better Call Saul, when Gilligan pondered during walks the thought of a world that unexpectedly shifts into unprecedented kindness. This premise later formed the foundation of Pluribus. Although the series is thematically distant from his earlier work, some viewers refer to the subtle tension reminiscent of his time on The X Files.

The reception of the initial episodes confirms that Apple TV’s description of an inexplicable yet human tale resonates well with the audience. Bob Odenkirk, from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, confidently spoke about the project two months ago, stating: "I’m sure it’s going to be huge. Really huge, it’s going to be the biggest project since Game of Thrones". That statement now seems strikingly close to reality.
