Epic Sci-Fi Series On Apple TV Gets A Fourth Season

As the third season comes to an end, Apple TV looks forward to the future of this acclaimed series, ensuring it continues to thrive.

Apple TV+ has officially greenlit a fourth season of the science fiction series Foundation, based on the stories by Isaac Asimov. This keeps the series an important part of Apple's streaming offerings.

The announcement of a new season comes as no surprise: a writers' room was already active for season four in June. Although Apple does not share viewership numbers, the show seems to be performing well internationally and has built a dedicated fanbase.

Strong Cast With New Faces

The leading roles are played by Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena Kingwit. Recent episodes have also added Cherry Jones, Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur, and Pilou Asbæk to the cast.

The announcement of the new season comes just before the finale of season three, which airs on Friday.

Response From The Showrunners

Ian Goldberg and David Kob, who will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers from season four, state in a press release: "There is no series like Foundation, and we are honored to continue the story. We look forward to expanding the epic and emotional storylines from the first three seasons."

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, highlights the show's global popularity: "It's fantastic to see how Foundation has become a global phenomenon. With each season, the excitement grows thanks to the bold storytelling and the talent of the cast and creative team."

Creative Forces Behind The Scenes

In addition to Goldberg and Kob, Bill Bost, Lee Pace, Michael Satrazemis, Robyn Asimov, and David S. Goyer are also involved as executive producers. Their collaborative vision has turned the series into a visual and narrative masterpiece.
