Jon Snow News Is Bad For 'Game Of Thrones' Fans

Many fans regarded him as one of the show's most beloved characters, but we must now ask if the story is truly over.

For years, there has been speculation about potential expansions of the Game of Thrones universe, particularly surrounding Jon Snow's fate. While author George R.R. Martin continues to offer new ideas, a familiar face seems to have made a clear decision.

Kit Harington has expressed that he does not intend to return as Jon Snow. In an interview, the British actor revealed that he feels little desire to slip back into the character's skin, even if given the opportunity.

Clear Statement

Harington addressed this during the promotion of his new work for Audible, where he voices a character in the audiobook Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. When asked if he would reprise Jon Snow's role, for example in an audiobook or other project, he firmly responded that he has no interest after working on the series for ten years.

It was previously reported that a planned spin-off centered on Jon Snow was not pursued. At that time, Harington indicated that the idea originated from HBO and that a suitable story had been sought for a long time, but ultimately, it did not materialize. The project was shelved after several development rounds.

Broadening Horizons

Alongside his new role as Gilderoy Lockhart in the Harry Potter audiobook, Harington continues to be active in various film and television productions. He has previously appeared in Marvel’s Eternals and will soon reprise a role in the fourth season of the HBO and BBC series Industry.

While Game of Thrones played a defining role in Harington's career, he is now fully focused on new projects outside of Westeros. His recent statements clarify that a return as Jon Snow is not currently on his agenda.

"The Battle Is Not Over Yet", Netflix Announces Second Season Of This Epic Action Series And Successor To 'Squid Game'

Netflix confirms season 2 of the Japanese action series 'Last Samurai Standing', featuring the return of Shujiro Saga, the main character.

The battle is not over yet for Last Samurai Standing. Netflix has confirmed that the Japanese action series will receive a second season, bringing back the main character Shujiro Saga, also known as Kokushu the Manslayer, in a new chapter of the deadly game Kodoku.

The series revolves around a once undefeated samurai who joins a ruthless survival game to save his family. According to creator and director Michihito Fujii, the script for the second season has been approved. "The idea that we can continue to build on this project gives me goosebumps," says Fujii. Main actor Junichi Okada, who is also working as a producer and fight choreographer, adds: "I am eager to dive back into this world and collaborate with the team on an even more intense season of episodes."

Worldwide Success For Japanese Production

Last Samurai Standing is based on the novel Ikusagami by Shogo Imamura and became an instant hit upon release. The series topped the charts for four consecutive weeks in Japan and reached the Netflix Top 10 in 88 countries around the world. Notably, it was also nominated for Best Foreign Series at the Critics' Choice Awards, a first for a completely Japanese production.

Junichi Okada aimed to create a new type of costume drama with a strong focus on action and an international appeal. Given the global reach and critical acclaim, it seems he has succeeded in that endeavor.

New Phase In The Deadly Game

At the end of season 1, the Kodoku battle was still ongoing. Only a few warriors remain, including Shujiro and Futaba Katsuki (Yumia Fujisaki). They travel to Tokyo, where a new phase in the game awaits them, and where the true organizers may be revealed.
