After An Exceptionally Short Wait Of 11 Months, The Final Season Of Prime Video's Biggest Series Is About To Start
The final season of The Boys premieres on April 8, 2026, and promises spectacular twists and turns throughout the episodes.
Amazon Prime Video has officially announced the finale of The Boys. The fifth and final season will begin in April 2026, featuring a premiere that includes two episodes right off the bat. Season 4 premiered on June 13, 2025, with Season 5 set to launch on April 8, 2026. This results in a gap of just under a year, which is relatively quick for a concluding season of a major series.
Starting from April 8, a new episode will be released weekly, culminating in the finale on May 20. This series marks the end of an era for the satirical superhero series, which has been one of the most popular titles on Prime Video since 2019. In Season 5, Homelander is completely out of control, while Hughie, Mother's Milk, and Frenchie are trapped in a so-called 'Freedom Camp'. Annie is trying to build a resistance movement, and Butcher makes a reappearance, armed with a virus that can eliminate all Supes.
During a panel at CCXP in Brazil, footage from the final season was shown for the first time. The trailer features a notable scene where Jared Padalecki appears alongside Jensen Ackles and Antony Starr (Homelander). Although Padalecki's character has not been named yet, it seems there will be a direct link between him and Soldier Boy (Ackles). The two previously worked together for years on Supernatural, which was also created by The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke.
Furthermore, the trailer shows Butcher rejoining his old team. Despite their previous split, they now must join forces to prevent a potential end of the world.
With the final season comes the conclusion of a successful formula that has now expanded into a broader universe. Amazon has already expanded The Boys with the spin-off Gen V, the animated series Diabolical, the upcoming prequel Vought Rising, and a planned series set in Mexico.
