Tom Selleck (80) Unrecognizable During Rare Public Appearance

Tom Selleck, at 80 years old, looks entirely different with his gray, full head of hair and beard, leaving fans astonished.

In the 80s, Tom Selleck was very popular and sought after for his roles in Magnum PI and 3 Men and a Baby. It is hard to believe he is now 80 years old.

The actor was still working until last year. But since the halt of the show Blue Bloods, he has been making fewer public appearances. He stated that he was frustrated that the well-watched series was not renewed for a new season.

Thick Hair

Now that he no longer needs to look sharp for his character, he is letting himself go. Although he was spotted here at E! News heading to the gym, it is clear that he has a growing belly. But what stands out the most is the amount of hair he has.

Few men have a thick head of hair and a large beard well into their retirement age. Meanwhile, his brown hair is gone and silver is abundantly present. The still charming actor has previously mentioned in interviews that he views going gray as a blessing.

Simply Unrecognizable

It softens all the terrible things that come with aging, says Tom Selleck. The fact remains that paparazzi probably need to take a second look before photographing him. He is truly unrecognizable without those obvious dimples in his cheeks.

Disney Is To Blame For Everything: "no One Cares Anymore"

Disney's approach to its franchises has caused confusion and decline.

Last month, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige candidly discussed the impact of Disney+ on the brand of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). According to Feige, the streaming platform has "devalued" the brand. He stated: "It was just too much. It was a big push from the company. And it doesn't take much to get us moving. There was a mandate we were caught in."

Disney wanted more content quickly for the newly launched Disney+, and Marvel Studios seized the opportunity to finally bring characters like Moon Knight and She-Hulk to life. Thanks to the mandate, Feige also had room to give supporting characters like Loki, Scarlet Witch, and the new Captain America more attention.

Declining Interest And Subscriber Loss

Initially, the strategy seemed successful, but interest in both Marvel films and series has decreased. This has led to lower box office revenues and, according to The Wrap, a loss of 700,000 Disney+ subscribers in the first quarter of 2025.

A producer experienced in franchise productions told The Wrap that the quality of Marvel's Disney+ series has been extraordinarily mediocre. According to him, this has weakened the entire brand and diluted its creative power. "People just don't care anymore," said the source.

Star Wars As An Example Of Oversaturation

A marketing expert noted that Star Wars used to be something special. "There's a big difference between a movie every four years and constantly three series plus an annual movie." Lucasfilm seems to have learned from this: besides the second season of Ahsoka, no new Star Wars series are planned, though films are on the way, starting with The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Dave Gonzales, co-author of MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, indicated that Marvel's branding has been damaged. "All the sub-brands have been watered down. They finally had the chance to bring everything into development." He added that Marvel thought they could apply their film formula to television, but that doesn't work. Series like WandaVision cost hundreds of millions of dollars because of this approach.

Pixar And Other Disney Brands

Pixar has suffered the most from the streaming strategy. However, Walt Disney Studios and Disney Animation have largely remained unscathed. This is partly because these brands have been less aggressively pushed on Disney+ since the launch six years ago.

Disney is now trying to restore its biggest brands. Star Wars seems to be on the right track, and Marvel Studios is following suit. Although Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps had box office problems, they received positive reviews. Starting next year, Marvel aims to release one to two series per year that are largely standalone from the theatrical films. The question now is: is it enough to regain the public's trust?

Audiences And Critics Agree: New 'War Of The Worlds' Is Terribly Bad

It's not often that both critics and audiences share the same negative opinion about a film, but this new version of 'War of the Worlds' has failed miserably.

Prime Video quietly dropped its new version of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds starring Ice Cube last week, without much fanfare or even early reviews.

The release followed just a week after the trailer for this 'Screenlife' project, where the entire story unfolds on screens like computers, tablets, phone displays, camera recordings, etc.

Filmed In 2020

Cube plays Will Radford, a top cyber security analyst at Homeland Security, who detects potential national security threats through a surveillance program. An attack by an unknown entity raises his suspicions about whether the government is hiding something from the world.

Now that the title has been out for a while, the reactions are pouring in, with critics giving it a stunning 0% on 'Rotten Tomatoes'. The audience, who streamed it en masse, also rejected it with a score of 12%.

Feature Film Commercial

Some reviews condemn the shameless self-promotion for Amazon, highlighting scenes with a homeless man bribed with his own gift card, drone delivery shots, or the checkout interface.

Worldwide The Absolute Number 1, Everyone Is Watching This Series On Apple TV+; "This Is Bigger Than Game Of Thrones"

The new series "Chief of War" starring Jason Momoa is taking the world by storm on Apple TV+.

The new Apple TV+ series Chief of War has quickly risen to become the most popular title on Apple TV+ within just a few days. The series has entered the top 3 most-watched series of the streaming service across various countries in no time.

Starring Jason Momoa, the series has been available globally since August 1, 2025, and is not only receiving high viewership but also enjoys an impressive IMDb rating of 8.0 based on over 2,000 votes.

Plot

The series follows Ka'iwana (Jason Momoa), a Hawaiian war chief who resists the forced political unification of the islands under Kamehameha I at the end of the 18th century. The show combines grand-scale battle scenes with cultural traditions and historical authenticity, largely due to dialogues spoken in Hawaiian.

In an interview, Momoa shared that someone from his team, familiar with the Game of Thrones circles, was amazed by the scope of the project: “This is bigger than Game of Thrones could ever be. Forget dragons, dude — this thing is insane.” He emphasized that Chief of War doesn't rely on fantasy, but on raw historical reality that seems to hit harder than dragons and magical kingdoms. Whether this will indeed be the case remains to be seen, but it’s clear the series starts off strong.

Where To Watch

Chief of War is exclusively available on Apple TV+. The first two episodes premiered last week, with new episodes released weekly every Friday. Each episode runs for about 50 minutes.

Dwayne Johnson And Leonardo DiCaprio In Martin Scorsese's Next Film: Here's What To Expect

Fans are eagerly awaiting Martin Scorsese's next movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Leonardo DiCaprio, which promises to be a thrilling crime drama.

Many film enthusiasts are looking forward to Martin Scorsese's new crime film, starring Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt. What can we expect from this project?

Scorsese has worked with many big stars before. He has created numerous masterpieces with DiCaprio, but no one ever expected that he would collaborate with 'The Rock'. However, the latter seems to be pursuing serious projects, such as The Smashing Machine and Breakthrough.

Story

The film, based on a true story, follows a charismatic but ruthless criminal attempting to seize control over the underworld of the Hawaiian islands during the 1960s and 1970s.

In a time of political unrest, he embarks on a brutal war against rival gangs and major American corporations. His aim is not only absolute power but also to protect the land of his ancestors.

War In Paradise

According to early descriptions, it promises to be an epic gangster tale where the struggle for cultural survival occurs in the most unexpected setting: a tropical paradise.

With themes such as power, identity, and resistance against outsiders, Scorsese seems to be combining a classic mafia story with rich historical and cultural layers once again. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a while for this project, as filming is scheduled for next year.

In Direct Competition With HBO's Harry Potter, Prime Video Unveils This Mysterious Fantasy Series

Prime Video is adapting the bestselling novel The Atlas Six, providing a dark fantasy alternative to the Harry Potter reboot.

The competition in the fantasy series arena is far from over. While HBO Max is gearing up for a new Harry Potter adaptation, Prime Video has been quietly working on an alternative aimed at the same audience but with a darker twist. Expectations are high, especially as more details emerge about this mysterious project.

The series is based on the bestseller The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake, a pseudonym for Alexene Farol Follmouth. The novel became a hit on TikTok and quickly rose to international bestseller lists. Prime Video announced the adaptation in 2021, and the project has been in development for over three years. The aim seems to be to launch around the same time as HBO's Harry Potter reboot.

Six Candidates, Five Places

At the center of the story is the Alexandrian Society, a secret order of magicians dedicated to preserving lost knowledge. Every ten years, six young talents are selected to go through the challenging admission process, but only five will actually gain entry. The tone is dark and the themes are more philosophical than in most young adult fantasy series.

The series is produced by Brightstar, led by Tanya Seghatchian and John Woodward. Author Blake is closely involved as a producer in the adaptation. Plans are also in place to adapt the sequels: The Atlas Paradox and The Atlas Complex, depending on the success of the first season.

Prime Video

For Prime Video, this series could serve as a strategic response to the fantasy offerings of HBO and Netflix. After the cancellation of The Wheel of Time, there is added pressure on this new title to maintain and expand the genre on the platform.
