This Dark Fantasy Series In A Well-known Disney+ Franchise But Currently Not Available For Viewing

The miniseries in the Doctor Who franchise features spectacular special effects but is not available online at this time.

A darker, more adult series in the Whoniverse, the world of Doctor Who, presents an intriguing idea regarding how this would look. The spin-off Torchwood previously provided a glimpse. The five-part The War Between the Land and the Sea continues this narrative, including the return of Torchwood characters.

In the series, the Sea Devils return, and UNIT must manage without the Doctor. In the United Kingdom, the series was aired on the BBC as part of the Christmas programming. However, The War Between the Land and the Sea is nowhere to be found on Disney+.

No Attention Despite Positive Reception?

This is even stranger considering that the reception has been largely positive. Some believe this miniseries is the best Doctor Who story in recent years.

Disney has opted for a delay, planning to make the series available sometime next year. As we near the end of 2025, several series have launched, with Percy Jackson and the Olympians being a major player. Disney may want to focus attention on this programming primarily.

To give this miniseries a chance, it has been decided to push the online launch to 2026. Fans will have to wait a little longer, but in the coming year they can indulge in the dark "Doctor Who adventure" The War Between the Land and the Sea on Disney+.

The Movie Of 2026 Has Its Trailer: Preview Of 'The Odyssey' Is Officially Online!

The first glimpses of the new Christopher Nolan film are now finally available for endless online viewing.

Following the successful theatrical debut last weekend, Universal Pictures has now officially released the full teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's latest film The Odyssey online.

This is not the same teaser that was released in July, nor the 5.5-minute IMAX prologue that was shown before Avatar: Fire and Ash. This is the official teaser that played in regular screenings of that film.

The Story

The Odyssey tells the epic story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The film explores themes such as heroism, loyalty, cunning, and the struggle against the will of the gods.

The narrative features iconic episodes, including the confrontation with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the seductive Sirens, and the mysterious sorceress Circe. Ultimately, the journey leads to the long-awaited reunion with his wife Penelope.

The Cast

The cast is impressive: Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, and Corey Hawkins play key roles.

For this production, Nolan filmed over two million feet of material over a shooting period of 91 days. He employed entirely new IMAX technology, making this the first major studio film that has been entirely shot in that format.

What To Expect

After the success of Oppenheimer, the multiple Oscar winner that almost grossed $1 billion in 2023, expectations are high for The Odyssey. Everything indicates that this will be one of the largest blockbusters of 2026. The Odyssey is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
