Quentin Tarantino Is Not Ready To Release 'Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair' And His Reason Makes Sense

Director Quentin Tarantino's reasons for not releasing 'Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair' are quite rational and reasonable for fans.

Fans have been asking for it for years. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which combines Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 into one film, has never been released on DVD or Blu-ray. Yet director Quentin Tarantino has promised it multiple times.

In a recent interview, the filmmaker unfortunately reveals that he is not planning to release the film in that format after all. And when you listen to his reasoning, it actually makes a lot of sense.

Still Special

"In this world, everything… is something that must be sold," Tarantino states. "Everything is owned by companies. [The Whole Bloody Affair] is not owned by a company. It's mine."

Tarantino does show the film in his own cinema in Los Angeles, the New Beverly. He enjoys that a screening of that film is now a special occasion. "Once everyone can hold it in their hands, it just means less," he says.

The Movie Critic

Meanwhile, we are still awaiting the director's tenth and final film. He was originally set to direct The Movie Critic, about a cynical film critic, but he changed his mind on that.

'The Revenant' Director Calls Film Genre 'Toxic': "It's Really Heading In The Wrong Direction"

Alejandro González Iñárritu has joined Martin Scorsese in criticizing the superhero genre, expressing serious concerns about its impact on cinema.

Despite Marvel and DC having experienced a dip in recent years, it seems that the superhero genre is on the rise again. A new group of Avengers is on the way while James Gunn has made waves with his recent Superman hit. However, a world-renowned director is far from convinced.

The director in question is none other than Alejandro González Iñárritu, known for masterpieces like Birdman and The Revenant. Just like Martin Scorsese, he is not exactly a fan of the superhero spectacle.

Critique

The Mexican filmmaker is one of the most popular directors in Hollywood, but he doesn't believe we will see a superhero film from him anytime soon. When he was asked about it, he did not hold back his opinion.

He starts off by saying: "I would truly find that terrible. I find it logical that a 7-year-old kid is focused on superheroes, and keeping the child in you is good, but I do think it’s a disease not to grow up".

Hollywood In A Chokehold

Iñárritu continues: "The big studios have Hollywood in a chokehold, wanting to profit from everything related to cinema. If a film costs 100 million dollars but earns 800 million to 1 billion dollars, everyone wants to make it, regardless of whether the story is worthwhile or not".

"However, if you come up with a great script, asking for 20 million dollars, and it might generate 80 million, you’re often told that's way too little. The space for showcasing good and fun films, and original stories is thus disappearing".

Danger

While Iñárritu admits that these films can sometimes be quite entertaining, he sees a dangerous undertone: "Sometimes I find them enjoyable because they are basic and simple and go well with popcorn. The problem is that they often claim to be profound, based on something from Greek mythology".

"I always see them as killing people because they don't believe in what you believe, or because they are not who you want them to be. I hate that and I can't relate to those characters. It's pure poison. The audience is overloaded with plot, explosions, and nonsense that speaks nothing about the human experience."

Completely Insane Second Spin-off Of 'The Boys' Announced: Including The First Images

The new spin-off of The Boys is set in the 1950s, exploring Vought's dark beginnings and its impact on society.

Filming for the latest spin-off of The Boys has begun. Prime Video has immediately released the first promotional images of the series Vought Rising.

In the initial photos, we see new characters like Bombsight (Mason Dye), Torpedo (Will Hochman), and Private Angel (Elizabeth Posey). Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, this time with an updated costume.

The 1950s

We already know that Vought Rising will be a prequel to the popular series The Boys, focusing on the rise of Vought International. The events take place in the 1950s, but substantive details about the storyline remain secret for now.

Besides Ackles, Aya Cash will reprise her role as Stormfront. The cast is also bolstered by Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.

Premise: "Twisted Murder Mystery"

The new series is described as a "twisted murder mystery." What this specifically entails is still unclear, but it seems that Vought Rising differentiates itself from previous titles by adopting a darker and potentially thriller-like approach.

The series is expected to premiere on Prime Video either late 2026 or in 2027. This year, we will see the second season of the spin-off Gen V, and next year the fifth and final season of the original series The Boys will debut.

With The Announcement Of The Second Season Of This Sci-fi Hit Based On A Video Game, Prime Video Aims For Total Victory In The Streaming War.

The second season of Fallout takes place in New Vegas and premieres in December, promising a thrilling continuation of the story.

The second season of Fallout is approaching, and Amazon Prime Video is giving fans an exciting preview. The streaming service has released the first poster, clearly showing where the new episodes will take place. Fans can stop speculating: the journey is heading to New Vegas.

After the successful first season, praised by both audiences and critics, the return of Fallout is one of the most notable releases this fall. New episodes will premiere in December on Amazon Prime Video.

From Southern California To New Vegas

While the first season was set in radiation-ravaged Southern California, season 2 opts for a new location. The story moves eastward to New Vegas. This city, once known as Las Vegas, received a new name and a unique role in the Fallout universe after a nuclear disaster. The setting directly connects to the game Fallout: New Vegas from 2010.

The video game served as inspiration for the new storyline. In the game, a courier must deliver the so-called 'platinum chip.' Whether this element will be incorporated into the show remains unclear.

Returning Characters And New Faces

The poster features familiar faces, including Lucy (Ella Purnell), the Ghoul (Walton Goggins), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and the loyal dog Dogmeat. Additionally, Mr. House makes an appearance, the ruler of New Vegas who retains his power through a supercomputer. This role is portrayed by Ren Auberjonois.

Netflix Scores With Thrilling Mystery, Straight To Number One

In the gripping thriller 'Night Always Comes,' Vanessa Kirby embarks on a desperate night adventure to save her home.

Vanessa Kirby previously starred in the Netflix drama The Crown and has since become known for action films like Mission: Impossible. She is back on Netflix in a thriller set over the course of one night. Night Always Comes is currently ranked high in the Netflix Top 10s worldwide.

Night Always Comes is directed by Benjamin Caron, also known for series like The Crown and Andor. Netflix describes the film using terms like "Dark" and "Thriller". The main roles are played by Kirby, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Zack Gottsagen.

Mixed Reception

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a mediocre score of 55 percent on the Tomatometer. On IMDb, the film scores slightly better: a 5.8 based on just over 1,200 votes.

Mick LaSalle of San Francisco Chronicle wrote: "The movie devises lots of fraught, intense moments, but what’s even more impressive about the screenplay is the way it seems to understand the psychology of the people that Lynette must deal with once she descends into the lower depths."

Now On Netflix

If you want to watch Night Always Comes, the film is available on Netflix.

The synopsis: Lynette juggles multiple jobs while taking care of her mother and brother. When a plan to take out a mortgage fails, she is forced into a nighttime journey along the fringes of the city to save her home.

First Reviews Of New 'Red Sonja': Hit Or Miss?

The new film adaptation of 'Red Sonja' reveals mixed reviews from critics, highlighting both strong performances and script flaws.

Director M.J. Bassett previously made the adventure film Solomon Kane and the action film Rogue. She now returns with a new adaptation of the famous warrior from the comics: Red Sonja, featuring Matilda Lutz in the lead role, alongside Wallis Day and Robert Sheehan. Unfortunately, the film does not reach great heights.

Red Sonja, currently holding a Tomatometer rating of 53 percent, tells the story of the red-haired warrior Sonja, who seeks revenge on those who have slaughtered her family and people. As she fights her battles, she uncovers a greater evil threatening her world.

Energetic Fantasy Film

Julian Roman from MovieWeb describes Red Sonja as a successful sword-and-sorcery film. "Red Sonja impresses: an energetic fantasy film that turns out better than expected. Matilda Lutz delivers a physical, intense performance that she combines with subtle emotion." The reviewer awarded the film a 3.5 out of 5.

Frank Scheck from The Hollywood Reporter has a different viewpoint. He claims the film attempts feminist and ecological themes, but fails to execute them well. "The whole is too clichéd and drawn out to really convince."

Faux Medieval Dialogues

William Bibbiani from TheWrap is also critical, calling the film an example of a fantasy film that does not achieve grandeur. "A sword-and-sorcery epic that does not understand the meaning of 'epic.'"

Leslie Felperin from The Guardian points out the inconsistent quality of the script. "Occasionally, a funny one-liner pops up, but mostly the film falls into clunky pseudo-medieval dialogues."

Sympathy

Jake Wilson from the Sydney Morning Herald sees the film as a B-movie that does not pretend to be more than that. "In a time when fantasy films are often overly serious or too light-hearted, one can almost feel sympathy for the simple, cliché-ridden approach of Red Sonja."
